Originally from Poland but I have been living in the UK for 15 years. I have a British husband and two children, 5 year old boy and 2 year old girl. The reason for creating this blog is to give me an opportunity of connecting with other mums who are in similar situation to me. To find a platform where we can all share our daily struggles of trying to juggle work and family life with absolutely no help. Living abroad can be challenging, bringing up a young family is definitely challenging and joining these two together is a challenge on a different level!

As mums we always concentrate on our children and their needs. We don't often talk about how hard it is for us. It can be missing simple things like not being able to pop over for a coffee to a family member after work. It is listening to friends talking about taking their kids to see grandparents on the weekend and feeling like you always have to think of finding places to take your children to because you have no family nearby to visit. It is feeling guilty that your children are missing out on making memories with the family. It is struggling with childcare when the children are ill and you have to go to work. It is not being able to do anything with your partner without children or just generally not having any time to yourself at all!

It is also the feeling of not belonging anywhere. You don't feel at home in the country you live in but you also don't feel at home in the country you have come from. It is that feeling like someone has just tied a knot in your stomach when you are at the airport about to fly back from visiting your family. It is having 25 days of holidays a year (if you're lucky!) and trying to decide whether you should use them to go to visit your family, go somewhere you have not been before or use them to look after your children when they are unwell, so you don't have to take unpaid time off work!

There really is so much more we have to deal with and I feel like no one can fully relate to it all unless they have experienced it themselves. The best thing about us though is that we never complain, we get up every day, we put it all in the back of our heads and we just get on with it day in and day out! We are amazing!
